Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) Course:
Recreation Today, in conjunction with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) is dedicated to promoting safe play. We believe children should be able to play in a challenging, yet safe, environment. The CPSI program offers the most comprehensive and up-to-date training on playground safety, as well as providing certification for playground safety inspectors.
The CPSI certification course is designed to train professionals to:
- establish a system of maintenance and inspections for your playground
- identify hazards on public playground equipment and grounds
- rank hazards according to injury potential
- apply knowledge gained to remove hazards
Recreation Today recommends that you take the certification course, then sit for the 100 question exam. Upon successful completion of the exam, students will be certified with the National Recreation and Park Association, with a required renewal every three years. There are no prerequisites to attend the CPSI course.
The total cost for the certification course is $650 per person, which includes instruction materials and the exam. You must attend all three days of class (two days of training and one day for the exam).
